Just when you thought you wouldn’t see another version of Internet Explorer on the next Ice Age page, Microsoft came up with an all-new version of its all-powerful browser app.

It takes so long that many internet users are tired of waiting for Microsoft to update their technology, especially looking for Firefox elsewhere.

Now the big bad king of the browser world isn’t in the mood to see his crown wrung out, but can he do enough to win his money?

To begin with, the new optimized interface is definitely an improvement.

In fact, Microsoft has removed the menu bar, hiding all the tools and functionality in a series of compact icons located at the top of the user interface.

This allows you to view pages in a very large viewing area. IE eventually decided to support tab browsing as well. It includes a new tab button for instant opening, as well as an inventive Quick Tabs button that opens a preview of all open tabs on a screen. Unlike Firefox, IE 7 actually has a lock button on every tab.

You can even save groups of tabs as your home page so that everything starts at boot. We also appreciate the print preview tool, which fits the page with your newspaper 7 and improves RSS integration. When you come across a website that supports RSS, the icon on the toolbar turns orange.

Click on that and you will be taken to a page with all the feeds for that site. Just click the link for that feed link to add it to your favorites.

You can also log in by clicking the little star icon on the left. However, unlike Firefox, there is no drop-down list for every item in a feed.

The Favorites Center, accessed by clicking the large star icon, is divided into Favorites, Feeds, and History.

Security is usually one of the hallmarks of IE.

In addition to a pop-up blocker, version 7 also removes an anti-phishing filter. To give it a try, we opened well-known phishing sites published on Phishtank. To our disappointment, the filter failed to report most of it. The phishing protection may not be strong in IE 7, but the browser includes at least SSL 2 security protocols.

0 and 3.0 and TLS 1.0, just like Firefox.

Despite all the improvements, IE is far from perfect. Like Firefox, IE doesn’t pass the Acid2 test and doesn’t even support the latest standards.

We noticed that IE slows down and drags when opening new tabs, in the Tools section and applying new settings. You can add a large number of search bar providers and add-ons from Microsoft’s website, but this is even less when compared to the Mozilla extensions for Firefox.

In addition, IE 7 is actually limited to those of you who have XP SP2. For some reason, you have to disable your antivirus and restart your computer for a proper installation (function () {(‘review-app-page-desktop’). ‘);});
